Rocket Plonk Privacy Policy
Effective 15 October 2026. Updated 19 October 2026: the game's new name. Nothing else changed.
Rocket Plonk (previously called Block Rocket) is a block-puzzle game made by TheSilliestGames Studio, an independent developer in Cape Town, South Africa. This policy explains what information the game uses and why. It applies to Rocket Plonk on iPhone, iPad and Android.
In short
- There are no accounts, and we never ask for your name, email or any other personal details.
- Your progress and settings are saved on your device. Your phone's own backup (for example, Android backup to your Google account) may keep a copy so you don't lose progress on a new phone. We never see it.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect some device information to show and measure those ads, as described below.
- You can buy a one-off "remove ads" upgrade. Google Play or the App Store handles the payment, and we never see your payment details.
Information saved on your device
Rocket Plonk saves your game progress (levels and planets reached, stars, stardust, high score, rocket parts, which tips you've seen and any run in progress) and your sound and vibration settings in a file on your device. This file is never sent to us.
Your device's own backup can include this file, so your progress comes back when you reinstall the game or move to a new phone. On Android this is Android backup, stored in your Google account; on iPhone and iPad it is iCloud or computer backup. These backups are handled by Google or Apple under their own terms, and we cannot see or access them. You can turn backup off in your device's settings. Uninstalling the game deletes the file from your device; a copy may stay in your backup until it expires or you delete it.
We do not use analytics, and the game does not collect or send any information to us.
Advertising
Rocket Plonk is free and is supported by ads from Google AdMob. An ad plays after every second run you lose, and when you abandon a run from the menu. You can also choose to watch an ad to rescue a run. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect and use information such as:
- your device's advertising identifier (the Android advertising ID, or on Apple devices the identifier for advertisers if you allow tracking);
- your IP address and an approximate location worked out from it;
- information about your device, such as its model and operating system version;
- how you interact with ads, such as whether an ad was shown or tapped;
- diagnostic information, such as ad loading errors.
Google handles this information under its own policies. You can read Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Purchases
"Buy me a coffee, remove ads" is an optional one-off purchase that turns off all ads. It is processed by Google Play on Android or by Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPad, under their own terms and privacy policies. We never receive your name, payment card or billing details. The game only asks the store whether the purchase has been made, so it can keep ads off, including after a reinstall (Restore purchase).
Ratings and reviews
The game may ask Google Play or the App Store to show their rating prompt, and Settings has a button that opens the store page. Any rating or review you leave is handled by the store under its own policies; the game does not see it.
Your choices
- European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland: the game asks for your consent before showing personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time: on the star map, tap Settings, then Ad privacy choices.
- iPhone and iPad: the game asks whether it may track you for advertising. If you say no, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised. You can change this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings (usually Settings > Privacy > Ads or Settings > Google > Ads).
Children
Rocket Plonk is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, please contact us and we will help.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) give you rights over your personal information. Because we do not collect or store personal information ourselves, there is nothing we hold about you to access or delete. For information collected by Google for advertising, use the choices above or Google's own tools. For purchases and backups, contact Google or Apple.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the game uses information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
